E ola ka olelo Hawai’i~Hawaiian Language

Aloha kakou! ‘O Waikolea ko’u inoa,

I have been a Hawaiian language student my entire life. From hula to high school classes, and a semester at the University of the Nations; Papa Haleo.

Unfortunately I have not been able to continue my practice and have lost a lot of what I had previously learned. As you have already guessed, it’s difficult for me to take traditional classes as I am currently homeschooling.

This year however I have a 9th grader at Kamehameha School and she is taking Hawaiian language. It seems like the perfect time for me to jump in and re-learn. My hope is that I will be able to assist her on her journey as I begin again on mine.

I believe Halau Olelo will be the bridge that I need to continue my journey. Therefore I have asked permission from Kumu Kainoa Embernate to share his work with all of you. I’m excited to begin my journey and would like to encourage all of you to visit Halau Olelo’s Facebook page  and check out all the FREE resources!
